One day Wheelock reported that injuns killed a family.Then the injuns came and toke everybody as slaves. They took them a long way then they dropped off the parents and took Molly and her neighbor.They traveled to a fort and they traded her to some ladies.They took her on a canoe to Seneca Town. The ladies gave her some Indian clothes. They took Molly in town, all the girls loved the golden color of the corn, Blond. They called her Corn Tassel.

Summary 1-16

One day Wheelock reported that injuns killed a family.Then the injuns came and took everybody as slaves. They took them a long way then they dropped off the parents and took Molly and her neighbor.They traveled to a fort and they traded her to some ladies.They took her on a canoe to Seneca Town. The ladies gave her some Indian clothes. They took Molly in town, all the girls loved the golden color of the corn, Blond. They called her Corn Tassel.Molly goes to work in the corn field carring Blue Jay on her back. When she hangs Blue Jay up in a tree she runs away. Little Turtle catches up with her and takes her to a river and plays with her. She returnes to Shagbark and he makes her a ladle with a bird on it. She returnes to her master and goes to bed. The next day it rains on the crops.Blue Jay has grown out of his baby carrier and now he can walk, dance, and swim good. All the kids in the Seneca tribe go swimming in the river. All the girls have a contest on which team will pick the most berries. Blue Jay saw a snake so he wanted to go touch it, when Molly saw this she grabbed a rock and threw it down to scare the snake. Old Fallenshash comes to tell Molly that her family had been killed by indians. Molly is a hero in the Seneca village.The English come and Molly must talk to them. Gray Wolf wants to sell Molly so he can buy fire-water and a white man's suit. Molly has a choice to be sold or to stay with the indians. Everybody except Gray Wolf wants Molly to stay. She goes to a trial to tell everybody her decision. She said she is going to stay with the indians.
